NUTOX Micellar Cleansing Water & NUTOX Anti-ageing Cream Mask Review
I know what you’re thinking. You’ve seen me harp on about how much I love being the ambassador of NUTOX Singapore, so I must be biased when I review their products, right?
The thing is, I promised myself when I started the blog, to be honest in all my reviews and this review of NUTOX two newly launched products won’t be any different. Because I know you are smart, you can smell bullshit from a mile away. Without further ado, here goes:
NUTOX Micellar Cleansing Water
I actually have never tried other micellar water before this. I’ve always been a double cleansing (with cleansing milk and facial wash with warm water) kind of girl and I don’t think that micellar water can (or should) replace a proper cleanse. But it’s bloody useful when you’re in hurry!
What is micellar water?
Micellar water looks and feels like plain old water, but it’s made up of gentle microscopic oil molecules called micelles suspended in soft water that attach to dirt, grime, makeup, and other gunk on your skin. The idea is, instead of foaming and stripping your complexion like soap and cleansers, micelles dissolve the bad stuff while keeping the good stuff on your skin intact. And apparently, French women live and die by micellar water, and because of France’s harsh H2O, they never let tap water touch their face.
So now I am left wondering whether limiting my tap-water exposure will benefit my face. Only time will tell on this one!
Anyway, I’ve been using my NUTOX Micellar Cleansing Water quite regularly now, to remove make-up at the end of the day, and to have a very speedy once-over in the morning when I’m running short of time. I like how clean and moisturised my face feel after a cleanse/wipe with it.
Micellar water ritual: Start with placing the bottle real close to your face and feel the difference! Joking! By the way, these photos aren’t great because they were taken at night when I actually had makeup to remove.
Using a cotton pad, I usually needed just one pump from NUTOX Anti-ageing Micellar Water to sufficiently wet the cotton pad.
Gently place it over the area I want to cleanse and wipe!
This was what I get from one wipe on my face. The foundation came off immediately. It’s gentle enough for me to use around my eye area, yet deft at cutting through makeup, including waterproof mascara, eyeliner and my very long lasting lip tint.
After a heavy makeup day, I also use it as a final “clean sweep” over my skin after I’ve done a proper wash. You know, for areas that often get missed, especially around the hairline and under the chin.
What makes NUTOX Micellar Cleansing Water stands apart from the other micellar water in the market is that it is formulated with Bird’s Nest extract and Lactic Acid, an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA). And most people know that AHA is a good remedy against fine lines, wrinkles and other signs of premature ageing. Combined with Bird’s Nest extract, it gently stimulates cell renewal for younger looking skin.
I like that it doesn’t leave my skin dry or tight and it’s gentle enough even on my raw and sensitive nose area where I’ve had a runny nose for the past week.
You can find NUTOX Micellar Cleansing Water here – it’s $15.90 per bottle.
NUTOX Anti-ageing Cream Mask
The sheet mask I have been wanting to share with you is HERE!
But first, a story.
Have you seen my video ad for NUTOX? Did you know that I was running a 40 degree Celcius the day before and I only had 2 hours of sleep because I was having chills and rigours all night? Our call time was 6am in the morning, so when I found myself awake at 4am, I thought, “Oh darn it, since I can’t sleep, let’s try to save my face for the shoot”. And so I applied NUTOX Anti-Ageing Cream Mask for an hour while I lay in bed. It totally saved my skin and dare I say, the entire production!
*Suggested application time is only 15-20mins though.
NUTOX Anti-Ageing Cream Mask is my go-to before I attend every big event and photoshoot. I naturally have dry skin and the anti-ageing cream sheet mask – the first in Singapore – nourishes my skin and provide that instant lifting and firming effect.
My pre-mask routine is to cleanse and exfoliate. Next, I pop on the sheet mask for 20 minutes or as long as I want. Take it off and you’ll see a ton of super good cream serum still left on your skin. Don’t you dare rinse. Massage that serum right in, spreading it out all the way down to your décolletage.
Voila! A glowy, lifted and firmed visage. It’s so hydrating, I find that there isn’t a need for moisturiser afterwards.
The sheet mask is sensational underneath makeup. I love how my makeup glides on and sit beautifully after each application. This mask can truly transform your dull and dry skin into amazing skin, without any acids!
Sometimes you want your makeup to look SUPER good, like for a wedding, an event, a photo shoot, or a party your ex will be at. The most crucial thing is the base – your skin. If it looks smooth and well hydrated, you really don’t need a lot of makeup.
Case in point – no make up in this photo at all! Ok, well, except for the semi-permanent brow and lashes.
Bless your skin with a sheet mask, NUTOX Anti-Ageing Cream Mask is $5.50 each. Get yours now at Watsons and FairPrice islandwide or shop online here.
