Life is crazy at the moment. The book launch, brand ambassadorships, events, my baby planning biz and on top of that, Lauren is starting primary school next year. Oh! Add in a 3-year-old and a toddler in the mix too. Crazy is an understatement. We, mums tend to fill up our plates to the brim and quite frankly, mine is about to tip-off anytime.

But this post isn’t all about my crazy life. Because when it all feels a little too overwhelming, I have a mini time off to slow down, gather my thoughts and I’m ready to go again. Last month, I spent my ‘me-time’ at Celmonze The Signature (CTS) trying out their Signature Facial  & Signature Facelift Massage.

Before the treatment commenced, I had a consultation with the skin specialist at Celmonze The Signature to determine my skin concerns. My skin has always been dry and lately, I’m worried about the sagginess too. She recommended their Signature Facial which is an effective customised facial that can prevent 4 main skin problems: acne, pigmentation, sensitive, sagging (4 problems in 1 solution). Basically, it’s suitable for people of all skin type. Sounds good to me!

Using Celmonze Paris skin care products, The Signature Facial started off with an Essential Oil Welcome Touch. The smell of the essential oil and gentle presses at various body points put my mind at ease immediately. Next, was the double cleansing and Enzyme Peeling to gently remove dead skin cells effectively. The extraction was a little painful but then again I had many little pimples and clogged pores on my face – possibly from the lack of facial treatments. The therapist was very thorough and I felt like every corner of my face was diligently scrutinised. 

Then, it’s masking time! The first mask was a Whitening Mask for further pore purification and the second mask, a Hydrating Mask could boost hydration up to 3 times more than a normal mask.

Signature Facelift Massage

While the hydrating mask was working its magic, I was given a shoulder and neck massage that was simply heavenly, using Celmonze own blend of Avocado Beauty Oil. I didn’t want it to end but alas, it was time for the hot stones face massage. It felt a little hot at first, but once my skin got used to the temperature, it was very pleasant indeed.

I dozed off during the hot stone facial massage and when I awoke, she was taking away a soft mask from my face. So after the hot stone massage, the therapist had applied another layer of soft mask on my face which I was totally oblivious to. That was one deep sleep. Haha!

The next step was just as indulgent. After an application of Nutricel Toning Lotion, she applied the CTS Concentrate which is also called the Ultimate Serum on my skin. Using a pair of white apparatus, the therapist performed manupressure massage on my face until the Ultimate Serum is fully absorbed.

The therapist told me that some of her clients would have numb and tingling sensations during this process. It’s understandable though. The Signature Facelift massage works like an exercise for all seven of your facial muscles – minus the pain and endurance of exercising. If your facial muscles have never “worked out” before, surely it feels a little sore. And similar to an exercise, the benefits far outweigh the little soreness. I didn’t feel anything but pure pleasure. More for me, please! Hahaha.

The Signature massage detoxifies, promotes better blood and lymphatic circulation and brings nutrients to the skin. It helps to lessen wrinkles and habitual expression lines, reduces under-eye bags and puffiness, tones and firms facial muscles, improves skin tone and creates brighter and more alert eyes. A natural facelift!

After an application of moisturiser and sunblock, my treatments are completed!

My thoughts

This isn’t one of those high-tech facial treatments where heavy machinery is involved – there is no intense ringing in your ears, weird sensations and no protective goggles required. That’s not to say that Signature Facial & Signature Facelift Massage at Celmonze The Signature (CTS) isn’t result-drive – my skin felt smooth, firmer and well hydrated afterwards.

And although I’ve no doubt that the products used by the therapist helped in getting my skin looks fresher and livelier, I’m almost positive that it was her skilful face-kneading techniques that did the most of the magic. Which is good – anyone can slather a mask on their own face and then take it off again. But if you’re paying for a service, then you need it to be something special. Something you can’t do yourself. My therapist used acupressure massage as well as some sort of amazingly relaxing head and scalp-rubbing technique, a hot stone treatment and lymphatic drainage moves, and not only did my face feel less tired and sunken, my entire neck and head and shoulder area were completely rejuvenated and relieved of tension.
