So, this time, I started using Colgate Naturals toothpaste and it made a big difference in my attitude toward brushing my teeth. This one is just as the title says – a fresh experience. Containing lemon and aloe vera extracts, I loved how clean my mouth felt after I used it and I really did feel like the freshness lasted a long time.

The flavour didn’t taste synthetic, either – kinda like brushing with lemon mint candy. I graduated my kids from their usual kiddies strawberry-flavoured toothpaste to this one, and they loved it!

Lemon is known to be refreshing and invigorating, that’s probably a big reason why my breath felt great for a long time. If you love zesty lemon, this could be your dream toothpaste.

Colgate Naturals – Real White

I found the Real White variation to be the most interesting. I don’t know about you, but this is the first toothpaste I’ve ever used that had crystalline salts and seaweed in it. Before you judge it based on the, just know that the saltiness is actually very refreshing!

Crystalline salt was used as a currency in the olden days and you can use it to remove stains from teapots and red wine spills. So in addition to a fun sensory experience, it packs a whitening punch! Sometimes whitening toothpaste can be too harsh and leave a funky taste in your mouth after, but not this one, so in my book, it’s definitely worth a try.

Colgate Naturals – Gum Comfort

Finally, the Gum Comfort variation – this is my favourite product in the Colgate Naturals line. Well, actually it’s hard to pick a favourite – I really do love them all. But because I have sensitive gums, and it’s great to know that Colgate Naturals Gum Comfort cares for my gum health.

Tea tree oil has been used for centuries to help soothe tooth and gum pain, so it makes sense for it to be incorporated as an ingredient in a toothpaste. Aloe vera has also been used in oral hygiene for a long time and can help in numerous ways, including keeping gums from receding, which is a big bonus.

I love the cooling sensation of this one, and my mouth feels amazingly fresh for hours!

Get Out of Your Oral Hygiene Rut

The first step is admitting you’re in a rut. I’ve been buying the same toothpaste year after year, feeling less than happy with it and just assuming they’d all the same. Boy am I glad I was wrong.
