A Breastfeeding Must Have
I supposed every mother has had this problem:
And if you haven’t, I’ll be the first to tell you that this is what happen when you breastfeed. YOUR BREASTS LEAK. I’m giving you a moment for the fact to sink in. Nobody told me about it before I had kids either. Mothers sit around complaining about breastfeeding but not one(!) had ever mentioned “milk let down” and “leaky boobs” and “waking up drenched”.
Anyway, as I’m usually not one to bring up an issue without a solution, an embarrassing wet t-shirt incident can be prevented by using breast pads – the right kind of breast pads.
Pigeon Honeycomb Disposable Breast Pads Review
A friend gave me a box of these when I was pregnant with Lauren. I had no idea that the quality of breast pads could vary greatly, I went on to try few different types and brands. But I’m now back to Pigeon because they are one of the most absorbent breast pads I’ve used and they are also the most comfortable.
I think the secret is with the unique quilted honeycomb lining. It traps excess milk quickly and spreads milk evenly. I have never felt any wetness whilst using these breast pads. It absorbs very quickly. Trust me, I had many episodes with lesser quality breast pads that felt wet, uncomfortable and I constantly had to worry if it was going to leak through my clothes. Which is pretty dumb, given the whole point of using breasts pad is to prevent leakage and ruin our clothes.
I never had a problem with leakage when I use Pigeon Honeycomb Disposable Breast Pads, even during those early unpredictable oversupply days. I mean look at the ultra- thinness of the pads! Pretty amazing, isn’t it?
Now that my milk supply is established, these pads can easily last an entire day.
Once, just for fun, I poured half a glass of water into a Pigeon breast pad just to see what happens. To my amazement, the pad fully absorbed all the water. Yes, by then, the surface felt wet(ish) to touch but it didn’t leak!
Pigeon Honeycomb Disposable Breast Pads are individually wrapped, which makes it great for throwing some spares into my handbag for emergency. Size wise, it’s not too small or so big that it’s peaking out of my bras, these are the perfect in between. It also had two adhesives. This may not sound like an important feature, but with the constant removal of bra for breastfeeding, you do want the breast pads to stay in place.
What I like most about these breast pads is that they are beautifully soft & well contoured, making them great for sore & cracked nipples. The pads maintain its form and smooth shape even after a heavy overnight use.
Pigeon Honeycomb Disposable Breast Pads is retailing at affordable $11.90 (Pack of 36+6s) and $13.90 (Pack of 60+12s). I usually get the bigger 60 pieces pack as it is more value for money. For me, the bigger pack lasts more than 2 months.
Pigeon Honeycomb Disposable Breast Pads is available at major departmental stores, baby specialty stores and supermarkets.
