Dyson Pure Cool 2-in1 Purifier and Fan Review
I have to warn you that this post is going to be totally biased. I have always wanted a Dyson fan. So when Dyson asked me to review their newly launched Dyson Pure Cool which purifies and circulate the air, I said yes without thinking twice.
What is Dyson Pure Cool?
As I mentioned, Dyson Pure Cool is a fan and purifier that engineered to remove odour, bacteria, toxic fumes, airborne pollutants as well as captures up to 99.95% of particles as small as PM0.1, which are harmful compenents found in the air during the haze periods. These tiny particles escape most other purifiers.
Why is this important?
Unfortunately for us, living in Singapore also means having to live with the haze season every year. When it happens, I often avoid going outdoor with the kids. But are we really safe staying indoors?
Apparently not.
Staying inside and shutting windows during the haze might alter our exposure to what’s outside, but harmful particles such as pollutants, allergens, pollen, and mould still creep indoors. A study carried out in the US estimated that we spend approximately 90% of our time indoors where levels of pollutants and allergens can be up to 100 times higher than outdoor levels – turning the home environment from safe haven to respiratory nightmare, especially for young children.
Dangerous particles in the air can settle on floors and surfaces, potentially causing asthma, respiratory problems or worse. Removing these particles from the home is essential.
How Dyson Pure Cool technology works?
Clean air then leaves the amplifier loop at a high velocity and is directed over an airfoil-shaped ramp. This way, a long-range stream of smooth air is released, purifying the air you breathe.
What I like about Dyson Pure Cool
Easy installation – When the purifier fan arrived in a box, I expected a long IKEA type installation to put it together. Imagine my surprise when I saw the manual. Just ‘clik, clik’ and done.
Only after 12 months of continuous use will you need to replace the filter. Most other purifier have a laborious filter changing and cleaning process. The Dyson filter can be changed in 4 simple steps in less than a minute.
This is one good looking fan and purifier. Almost every guest that came by the house commented on how good it looks. It has since become Nick’s proudest piece of equipment in the house besides his sound system.
We all know how curious little children like sticking their hands into a fan. I have had a few close calls when Lauren’s hand almost got injured by our old fan’s blades. With Dyson Pure Cool, I have no such worry anymore as it is totally safe for little hands.
This machine really is quiet, even when it is oscillating. The Dyson Pure Cool has been awarded the Quiet Mark accreditation. Great for the baby’s room when air-con is too cold.
Con
The only fault I can find with the machine is that it is very light. Weighing at only 3.5kg, it is easily knocked over by my 11 months old baby. No worries though. Because of its lightness, both baby and machine emerged unscathed.
Also because it is so light, I find it very mobile. I can easily lift it with one hand to move it to another corner of the house. This con is also a plus. I warned you I’d be biased.
Where to buy
Dyson Pure Cool is available in 2 colours – white/silver or iron/blue and comes with two-year parts and labour warranty. It can be found in all good electrical multiplex and department stores at S$999 with replacement filter at $79. For more information here.
OMG I TOTALLY WANT THIS!!!
Dyson indeed is a great brand. Need such fans in every home.
So stylish!!! Need this too as my 2 young curious kids love putting their fingers into everything ????

I am all set for this purifier and fan, at the same time it looks so stylish.
Because it’s a thousand bux it’s so hard to make this purchase. We own 3 regular dyson fans at home. Not the fancy one with the purifier and it already cost a bomb! Wished this purifier version was more affordable.
I think if you add the cost of a good purifier and a regular Dyson fan, it works out to be close to the price, if not cheaper. And you can save space and electricity from powering two machines at the same time! 🙂

Wow, my husband’s friend work in Dyson and he often share with us the new products. My hub loved Dyson fan too… =) Thanks for sharing.
I think everyone loves to have a Dyson fan! So easy to clean and it is safe for children but it is so pricey to afford one. 🙁 Wish the price was more affordable!
Love how technology and style comes together, and no more worries that fingers will be caught in fan-blades.
cheers, Andy
