Georgia is turning 8 months old in 3 days time. Sometimes she sleeps from 8:30pm to 6am – hurray! But most of the time, she wakes up around 3am for a feed or diaper change.  It made me wonder why is it sometimes she could sleep through the night and sometimes needs a midnight feed? So I did a little digging around, not literally and found that wet diapers is the top cause of night awakening.

According to babysleepadvice.com, bedwetting is not an issue. All babies can’t control their bladders – well, we all know that. BUT it is the uncomfortable overly wet diapers and leakages that are making babies unable to fall asleep again.

Turned out there is already a solution to that. Drypers has recently launched Drynights, a new range of diaper that provides up to 12 hours of dry comfort.

How is that possible? Well, compared to my regular diapers, it feels thicker and longer. It also comes with leak guards that gently hug Georgia’s leg to prevent side leaks too.

For Georgia, leakage usually happens from the back. Now with the longer absorption core, pee has more space to flow before being trapped by the leak guards. No more crying baby with wet pajamas soaked with pee in the middle of the night – hallelujah!

According to the packaging – Drypers Drynights contains 4 Natural Plant Extracts – Aloe Vera, Chamomile, Olive Extracts and Vitamin E to keep baby’s skin healthy and comfortable. I’m not sure how that works but judging from the lack of rashes and redness on my babe’s bum, I guess it is all goooood.

Georgia wears size M. Since early March, I’ve been putting Dypers Drynights on Georgia just before I nurse her to sleep at 8pm. I’m happy to report most nights she sleeps until 6am now. We need not worry and change her in the middle of the night anymore… unless she poops, of course.

Most importantly, I finally get my full 7 hours sleep again. Well rested baby + happy mummy = a brand new morning of endless possibilities!

Bright and cheery in the morning!

Still a little sceptical? Yeah, I was too. So I did a little experiment with the diapers.

Georgia usually drinks about 200ml each feed. So lets say she has 2 feeds worth of pee during the night. So I poured 400 ml into the diaper. That’s 1.5 cups of water. I let it absorb for half a minute. It felt dry when I press my hands against it. Amazeballs!

A bag of Drypers Drynights size M has 40 pieces and costs S$13.45 at Fairprice. So it works out roughly the same cost as a regular diaper. Since the absorption is much better and I no longer need 2 diapers per night, I’m actually making a savings.

Drypers Drynights can be found at all major super and hypermarkets such as Fairprice, Sheng Siong and Giant.

It’s alright. You can thank me later. Now go get your baby some Drynights and you get a good night’s sleep too! 🙂
